I art directed these fashion still life photos
as a personal exploration in 2023 and 2024.
They were conceptualized, styled, shot
and retouched by myself using my personal
photo studio set up.
I art directed these fashion still life photos
as a personal exploration in 2023. They
were conceptualized, styled, shot and
retouched by myself while staying at and
exploring the woods around a cabin in
the Adirondack Mountains of New York.
These are several of the technique
studies from my first book Watercolor
Workshop: Learn to Paint in 100 Experi-
ments. This book was developed in
collaboration with ABRAMS Noterie and
launched in 2018. Each one of the
composition exercise includes a tech-
nique breakdown, a tip, and space to

This mixed-media nature illustration was
created in 2013 as a personal exploration
for a scarf design. It was inspired by
a combination of bold geometry, organic
crystal forms, and graphic kaleidoscope
photography, to create a complex inter-
woven image.
Additionally, Bezar selected this piece
as one of eighteen exclusive prints, for
sale on their eShop.
This hand-painted cover was created
in 2012 at the request of the Penguin
Random House imprint, Penguin
India as a redesign for Rabindranath
Tagore’s classic book of poetry Gitanjali.
To emphasize Rabindranath's delicate,
nature-filled writing, I chose to paint
a bright, organic plant and water scene.
Other credits include Art Director
Gavin Morris.
These home-design illustrations were
created in 2013 at the request of Herman
Miller’s website publication WHY. The art
was to be incorporated into a feature that
payed homage to the late, great designer,
artist, and sculptor Ward Bennett.
Other credits include Senior Manager,
Art Direction Everett Pelayo.
These hand-painted patterns were
created in 2016 in collaboration with
Swedish wall art brand, Your Wallpaper.
They were inspired by NASA photo-
graphs of the universe, interpreted in
a geometric style. Cosmos Dark and
Cosmos Bright were painted with a wet-
on-wet watercolor approach. Their
design was based on the definition of
cosmos, "the universe seen as a well-
ordered whole," each dot representing
a planet in this organized view of
outer space. Aurora was painted with
a wet-on-dry watercolor approach. The
design was based on an abstract view
of the dark sky and bright, flowing
colors, as seen in an Aurora Borealis.
This asian-inspired pattern was created
in 2015 at the request of Julia Lake
Parties for one of her New York-based
client's wedding invitation. The art was
inspired by the wedding color palette
and delicate de Gournay bird patterns.
Other credits include collaborators,
wedding planner Julia Lake Parties and
invitation designer Southern Fried Paper.
These watercolor patterns were created
as part of a personal exploration in 2009
and have since been developed into the
cosmetic retailer, SPACE NK's 2012 holiday
campaign. With the guidance of SLW Crea-
tive, this art was placed throughout SPACE
NK's catalog and website, along with their
United Kingdom and United States stores
to create a cohesive and graphic campaign.
Both Bezar and PrintSin selected several
of these patterns to sell as prints on their
eShops. Additionally, Chevron Repeat
was sold as a limited edition print by The
Working Proof.
Other credits include Creative Director
Sam Walton.
These Sicily-inspired patterns and maps
were created in 2012 at the request of
Sterling Publishing, for integration into
an Italian cookbook focused on Case
Vecchie. Case Vecchie is the most imp-
ortant cooking school in Sicily; a place
that values tradition in both food and
life. The patterns are inspired by their
pottery and vast fields of produce.
Other credits include Senior Art Director
Chris Thompson.
These are a selection of illustrations from
a 2018 exploration, produced at the request
of Champions Design.
Other credits include Creative Director
Jennifer Kinon.

composition exercise includes a tech-
nique breakdown and a tip. As this is
two books in one, there is also space
to practice the skill in the workbook.

These color-focused illustrations were
created in 2017 as a personal exploration
into a potential children's book project.
This book idea was a riff off of my SVA
MFA Design Master's thesis, and concei-
ved as a way to introduce children to all
aspects of color through the examina-
tion of their local environment, followed
by drawing activities.
This citrus cover was created in 2014
at the request of the Uncovered Classics
project. In response to Modern Library's
male dominated 100 Best Novels of the
20th century list, Feminista produced their
own female-author focused list. A select
group was chosen to showcase these books
by reinterpreting their cover art and writing
reviews for each one. I produced art for
Janette Winterson’s “Oranges Are Not the
Only Fruit.” In this book, oranges are the
symbol for the dominant religious ideology
in Janette’s upbringing. Visually interpret-
ing Janette’s perspective, I illustrated the
“religious” orange as a fractured illusion.
This is a pattern that I developed between
2020 and 2023, starting as a covid quarantine
project to challenge myself. It turned into
a series of portraits of interesting creative
women. I actively selected and drew women
of a wide range of ages and ethnicities.
These are several geometric patterns
from my second book Marker Workshop:
Learn to Ink in 50 Experiments. This
book was developed in collaboration
with ABRAMS Noterie and launched
in 2019.

These food-themed patterns were created
in 2013 at the request of Nido Magazine
for their “Blitz-Picknick” recipe feature.
Nido is based in Germany and focuses
on enhancing the young contemporary
family lifestyle. This art was built out
of items described in the quick-to-make
recipes placed throughout the feature’s
two and a half spreads.
Other credits include Picture Editor
Patrick Hamilton.
This microbe pattern was created in 2013
as a personal exploration. I experimented
with color and texture, piecing microor-
ganisms together into a repeat and placing
watercolor backgrounds into the design.
This palette is based off of the pale mix
of colors seen in microbes photos.
Additionally, Bezar selected this piece
as one of eighteen exclusive prints, for
sale on their eShop.

This hand-drawn mark was created in 2013
at the request of Jörgensen & Jörgensen
as part of Undersåkers Charkuteriefabrik’s
branding. UC, an artisanal meat producer
in Sweden wanted a logo that would blend
together the pig, Swedish moose, bird and
trout. I took a playful approach, creating
a handmade vintage-inspired, animal hybrid.
The final mark was featured in Gestalten's
“Los Logos 7” and selected as a HOW
Magazine '16 International Design Award
Merit Award winner.
Other credits include Founding Owner, Art
Direction Lotta Jörgensen.
These large and small ant illustrations
were created in 2012 at the request of
Swiss-based DAS Magazin. The art
was integrated into a society-focused
feature titled "The Single Ant Is No Ant."
I worked with Saks OFF 5TH in 2021
to create a fine jewelry landing page for
their e-commerce website. In addition
to collaborating with Sheilini Singh on the
design and building out a new set of
infographics to help describe everything
from watch face sizes to diamond clarity,
I created a hand-drawn pencil sketch
background that ran the length of the page.
Other credits include the VP of Creative
Ting Ting Lee, the director of the design
team Sheilini Singh, the copy team under
the direction of Lizzie Cheney, the art team
under the direction of Holly Stevenson
and the styling team under the direction
of Jacob Glaser.
