A Bit About Me

I'm a creative director, educator and author
working in Brooklyn, NY. I run a small studio
specializing in multifaceted projects that
incorporate custom/handmade elements.

I'm the author of a medium-focused art
workbook series, developed with ABRAMS
Noterie. My first book, Watercolor Workshop:
Learn to Paint in 100 Experiments and its
corresponding products, a journal, note-
book, and notecards came out early '18.
My second book, Marker Workshop: Learn
to Ink in 50 Experiments launched early '19.
And my newest, Pencil Workshop: Develop
Your Sketching Skills in 50 Experiments
released early '20.

I have grown my creative skills at several
wonderful institutions. I’m an alumni of
Carnegie Mellon's School of Design, The
Cooper Union‘s typeface design program
Type@Cooper, and the School of Visual
Arts‘ MFA Design, entrepreneur program.

I have received many awards, including
HOW Magazine, Graphis, and Typism
honors, and being named a Print Magazine
20 under 30: New Visual Artist. My work
has been published in collaboration with
HarperCollins Publishers, Penguin Random
House, WIRED Magazine UK, Food & Wine
Magazine, Bergdorf Goodman, Madewell,
Saks OFF 5TH, and Milton Glaser Inc.

I have taught and spoke internationally,
leading workshops at TYPO Berlin, lecturing
at the Type Directors Club and most recently
teaching Sophomore Design I and II at
SVA. Additionally, my art has shown world-
wide, exhibiting in Brooklyn's “Early Bloom”
and Stockholm's “Den Franska Våren.”

My designs have also been featured in
various publications including Gestalten's
"Los Logos 7," Chronicle Book's “The Little
Book of Lettering,” Real Simple Magazine,
Computer Arts Magazine and WWD.
